IEEE WIE(Women In Engineering) is a society that works to promote women in all STEM fields. It's main objective is to encourage and acknowledge the efforts of female researchers, engineers and scientists and to provide them with incentives to work for the advancement of technology. This society arranges opportunities for women to arrange and attend events that promote technological advancement and promotes innovative discussions conducive to progress in technical fields. The ultimate goal of this society is to support women working for the cause of technological progress, to showcase their immutable talent and prove the absolute role women play in the progress of any and all technological fields.
The Islamabad IEEE Section is located in Region 10, Islamabad. It was formed on February 12, 2000. IEEE Islamabad Section is involved in promoting activities that fall under IEEE focused areas. Numerous vibrant IEEE technical societies from all over Islamabad are working under IEEE Islamabad Section including Geo-science and Remote Sensing Society, Aerospace Society, Power Engineering Society, Computer Society and Communication Society.
Encouraging IEEE activities among engineering students and catering to their technological and creative needs has always been the sole purpose of IEEE Islamabad. 26 IEEE student branches are actively working under IEEE Islamabad Section so that we can show our future scientific leaders, while they are studying, to the vast community of IEEE all around the world.
IEEE Young Professionals is an International Society whose foundation was laid on January 25th, 2015 by Farrukh Jamal. It is an affinity group that provides the young up-and-coming professionals with opportunities and platforms to showcase their talents and gain a helpful insight into the professional world. Youth is this group's strong point; their innovative, energetic and ideal outlook of the world allow this society with the exclusive chance to dominate in almost all the fields available today and work particularly in the interaction between various disciplines. The society offers an unparalleled chance to gain exposure and form personal and professional ties.
SAC is the IEEE committee responsible for student programs and benefits. These volunteer members provide important viewpoints and information, and represent the voice of the IEEE Student and Graduate Student members worldwide. The mission of IEEE SAC is "to deliver a common, high quality IEEE Student member experience globally, for lifelong, professional success through IEEE membership."
SAC and the MGA volunteer and staff teams oversee the IEEE student strategy. The goals of the strategy include strengthening partnership between student activities and all other IEEE entities, interactive training program and resource for repository for volunteer leadership development, create student-friendly information management system, diversify the IEEE Student membership to reflect IEEE's technical fields of interests and interdependent professions, create activities that students are interested in etc.
In short, Student Activities Committee (SAC) takes care of the needs of IEEE student members. The committee conducts regular and special activities for students to improve technical knowledge, management skills and to enhance networking among members and student branches.
